An extension of the convolutional method is presented to analyze late wellbore storage buildup data of high-flow-rate gas wells. The improved convolution technique permits a direct estimation of the formation permeability, the mechanical and the rate-dependent skin factors, and the extrapolated reservoir pressure from three different analysis plots. Two simulated cases and a field example are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the improved method in analyzing high-flow-rate gas wells.
